At just over a half-inch thick, the Motorola RAZR V3i is the perfect combination of sleek design and powerful features. RAZR V3i is an ultra-thin clamshell phone with cutting-edge technology and unstoppable functionality. The V3i’s construction boasts a solid anodized aluminum case that looks great in any setting, business or personal.
It’s very thin and light, measuring just 3.86 x 2.08 x 0.54 inches and weighing just 3.35 ounces, easily disappearing in any pocket. With the V3i’s diminutive size, you’ll forget you’re carrying it until it rings. Yet, it possesses a solid feel in your hand and the hinge is quite robust. Another distinctive feature of the RAZR appears in its keyboard. The highly distinctive keypad is etched from thin metal with a blue backlight appearing through the letters and symbols. This enhances durability and appearance, looking very futuristic and stays looking great. The keyboard revolves around a directional key pad with a center action button. The function of all these may be programmed for use on the home screen. The web access and messaging system buttons on either side of the keypad provide quick access to these functions, and below them are the green connect and red cancel buttons. V3i has an internal TFT 262k Colour Screen (176 x 220 Pixels) With Graphic Accelerator and a external CSN 65k Colour Screen (96 x 80 Pixels). V3i is a Quad Band Technology (GSM 850, 900, 1800 & 1900) mobile.
The iTunes experience on the V3i is unchanged from the Rokr and Slvr and will be familiar to iPod devotees. The interface isn't particularly flashy but it's functional and user-friendly. Opening the player takes you straight to the music library, where you can organize songs by playlist, artist, album, and name. When playing music, the phone goes into standby mode while displaying onscreen soft controls and album art. Settings include shuffling of songs or albums, but it's disappointing the V3i doesn't offer an equalizer. Transferring between the cell phone and the music player is seamless, as music stops automatically when you receive a call. Hang up and press the dedicated iTunes key, and your song picks up again from the point you left off. There's also an airplane mode that lets you listen to your tunes in flight with the cell phone turned off.
The RAZR V3i's internal phone book can hold up to 1000 contacts with 6 numbers per contact, while the phone's picture ID system allows you to assign pictures to your most common callers. It also supports polyphonic ringtones as well as MP3 ringers, allowing you to use portions of your favorite songs to alert you to incoming calls. There's even an included application, MotoMixer, that lets you mix your own ringtones. A built-in speakerphone makes it easy to talk without having the phone to your ear while voice activated dialing makes calling your friends, family and associates as easy as saying their names.

The 1.2-megapixel camera takes pictures in four resolutions (1,224x768, 640x480, 320x240, and 160x120), but other options are limited to an 8X zoom, six color effects, five exposure settings, and a self-timer. You get five shutter sound choices besides a silent mode. The camcorder shoots MPEG-4 clips in two resolutions (176x144 and 128x96) with sound and a 4X zoom. Clips meant for multimedia messages are capped at a few seconds; otherwise you can shoot as long as the available memory permits.
RAZR V3i has an internal memory of 10 Mbytes Memory plus MicroSD (TransFlash Memory)MB support. The phone has Java MIDP 2.0 support for games and applications. The Razr comes with three games: Billiards, Golf and Skipping Stones. The RAZR V3i is a messaging and wireless Internet powerhouse. Support is built in for sending and receiving pictures, text, graphics, sound and video via messages. When used in combination with the phone's built-in still and video camera, MMS opens up a whole new world of messaging fun. Instant messaging is also supported via AOL Instant Messenger and the phone ships with a built-in email client with support for POP3, IMAP4 and SMTP protocols. V3i has 6 Hours of Talk Time and 290 Hours of Standby time.
The Motorola Razr V3i's iTunes player has too many restrictions, and the phone's call quality and music player performance could be improved. Also there is no support for EDGE. However, the Motorola Razr V3i offers music lovers a decent mix of design and features.
