LG KE770 SHINE is the first LG SHINE model that embraces the classical candy bar form factor. Following the success of the previous SHINE models, the new KE770 follows the same “Styled in Metal” trend, offering the sophisticated and innovative look. The metal casing is beautifully crafted and the well shaped keyboard has blue back-lighting. Shine is on a mission to become the next fashion phone for the masses.
The handset is extremely slim with a total depth of 10mm & the KE770 weighs only 79 grams includes the fitted battery. The screen is 1.7 Inch in size & displays up to 262,000 colours on a high resolution screen. The handset comes with no opening mechanisms due to its bar design which makes the handset easy to use & comes with a keypad lock to avoid any buttons being pressed when the handset is being carried. The KE770 Shine Bar comes with a beautifully metal effect keypad which is etched into the handsets casing & is neatly situated below the phone mirror effect screen.
KE770 comes with built-in music and video players that support various file formats such as, MP3, AAC, AMR, WAV, 3GP and MPEG4. You can also view JPEG, BMP, GIF, WBMP and PNG still images on it. However, the phone does not come with an FM tuner. As mentioned earlier, the KE770 only offers a proprietary port for audio output, and it comes bundled with a special wired remote control as well as standard earphones.
You connect the remote control to the port and then, plug in the earphone to its standard audio jack. This means you can also connect a better pair of earphones or headphones to it.
alternatively, since the KE770 also supports A2DP, users can also connect Bluetooth headphones.
Moving on, its 2-megapixel camera allows users to take still photos at up to 1,600 x 1,200pixels while video can be captured at up to 176 x 144pixel resolution. Here, users can tinker with the LED flash, self-timer, a digital zoom and its shooting modes (night, macro and multi shot). The LG KE770 is a style focused camera phone which provides the user with easy to use camera & entertainment features. The user can use the camera feature to capture video footage which can be recorded, played back, stored & shared with others via the MMS messaging service. The video features are easy to use & provide the user with the imaging feature which are fun to record & store for later viewing.
Shine has a 70MB of usable memory onboard and you expand the space further by inserting a TransFlash memory card. The Shine has all its quick access and shortcut buttons ¡V which let you access the MP3 player, camera, volume controls as well as power switch ¡V bunched on its right side. The KE770 uses a single proprietary port, also located on the right side, for all its data and audio out connections as well as to charge its battery. Other features include basic PIM functions, including a calendar, calculator, alarm clock, stopwatch and an easy to manage phone book, as well as Bluetooth connectivity with A2DP support. Additionally, there is also a built-in document viewer for users to read their Word and PDF files while on the move. The battery provide up to 200 hours of standby time & approximately 2.5 hours of talk time from a fully charged battery.
The KE770 provides all the essential functions that most users will likely use but it might just prove to be a little too basic. But its slim, stylish and shiny profile never fails to attract attention so if looks are more important than functionality, and you have the cash to splash, consider the KE770
